REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR SY 2009-10 


 At the time of Registration, Sponsors of Returning Students will need:

  • to update and sign DoDEA Student Registration Form 600
  • provide verification of Active Duty Status (i.e.: current orders if not on file in the school office, deployment orders, sponsor’s active duty ID card, or letter from military command verifying active duty status on the first day of the 2009-2010 school year)

 

Verification of on-post residency will be verified through housing by school registrars prior to the start of the new school year.  Sponsors will no longer need to provide a current billing statement. 


Age Requirements for Students Entering School for the First Time

(Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten)

  • Preschool students eligible for special education services must be 3 years old
  • Students entering Pre-K must be 4 years old on or before September 1st
  • Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1st   
  • Also, students entering 1st Grade, who did not attend Kindergarten, must be 6 years old on or before September 1st  

 

Required Documents for Enrollment

  • Lease Agreement OR Memorandum from Housing Office verifying permanent family housing assignment within 180 days
  • Sponsor’s Current Orders
  • Student’s government issued birth certificate: a copy will be retained  (Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten students will not be registered without verification of date of birth)
  • Previous school records and previous school’s mailing address
  • Georgia Certificate of Immunization and any additional immunizations required by DoDEA (must be on file in the nurse’s office PRIOR TO starting school).  Certificates are available at Martin Army Community Hospital.
  • Students entering school for the first time (Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten) will also need an Eye, Ear, and Dental Examination (must be on file in the nurse’s office within 10 days of starting school).  Exams available at Martin Army Community Hospital.

 

Special Ed Preschool Children

Preschool children ages three and four years with developmental delays, physical disabilities, or speech-language problems may be eligible for services.  You may contact the Student Services Office at 706.545.5520 if you are concerned about your preschooler.  For infants and toddlers, ages 0-2, you may contact Educational and Developmental Intervention Services at 706.545.3835.
