FLES¡Viva el español! ¡Viva la salsa! In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, Spanish students had fun learning about one of the most famous Hispanic- Americans, Celia Cruz, the Queen of salsa music. Using a website by the Smithsonian Museum, students learned about her music and made interpretations of Celia Cruz dancing the salsa. Students learned to dance the salsa as well. We have also learned about one of the Spanish-speaking countries in the Caribbean, Cuba. Cuba is the native country of Celia Cruz and the birthplace of the salsa. Students learned about the Cuban flag and how it differs from the American flag.
