Parr Named Elliott Elementary School Principal 
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – Dr. Linda Curtis, Area Superintendent for Curriculum,
Instruction and Assessment for the Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Dependent
Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents
Schools, Cuba, (DoDDSCuba) announced today that Mrs. Vicky Parr has been named
principal of Elliott Elementary School, at Beaufort, in the South Carolina/Fort
Stewart/DoDDSCuba District.
Parr, who was born in Michigan, has been with Elisabet Ney Elementary, Lake Jackson,
Texas, in the Brazosport Independent School District throughout her education career.
She taught third grade for seven years and has served as assistant principal for the past six
years. During that time, the school received the Texas Education Agency’s top ranking of
‘Exemplary’ and was recognized as a Distinguished Title I Campus this past year.
“Mrs. Parr’s classroom and administrative experience will make the leadership change at
Elliott seamless,” said Curtis, referring to Barbara Hazzard’s recent retirement. “She
brings with her a love for children, a passion for education and a goal to build lasting
relationships with the Elliott Elementary students, parents and staff.”
Parr earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and her
Master’s Degree in Educational Management both from the University of Houston Clear
Lake. She and her husband, Randy, have three children – James, Sam and Hannah.
