A SLAM DUNK LESSON

Second graders recently engaged in a "slam dunk" lesson on dinosaurs and their fossils.  Students went on the Natural History Museum website and researched the dinosaur, Oviraptor.  The children predicted what type of eater this dinosaur was based on inquiry and research. They also could choose to list evidence of what oviraptor ate, draw a picture and identify body parts, or write an acrostic poem or rap.  Enrichment activities include further exploration on websites about dinosaurs.
