Kindergarten News

The Kindergarten children have been learning using themes and special events. ex apples, pumpkins, squirrels, and the changing seasons. These are things that our children are interested in learning about! Our favorite songs can be heard throughout the Kindergarten Building halls! Singing reinforces reading and memory.

Our focus this year has been on Math. We are learning to solve problems in meaningful ways by drawing pictures and coloring graphs. We are also learning to recognize numbers 1-100, make patterns, and classify and sort according to 2 attributes.

In Literacy Place, our Language Arts series, we are learning about sentence structure, punctuation, compound words and learning to read many sight words. We have also discovered many strategies to use “when you come to a word you don’t know.”
