Mission Statement

The mission of the VADDESS Information Center is to ensure that students and staff become effective lifelong users of ideas and information by providing free and equal access to materials and electronic sources that meet intellectual, curricular and recreational needs, instruction in information retrieval, and networking with available resources.

Philosophy Statement

The VADDESS Information Center philosophy is to provide intellectual and physical access, and learning experiences that encourage patrons to become skilled users of information.

The Information Specialist will provide leadership and instruction in the use of information technology that contributes to and encourages lifelong learning.

The Information Center will provide resources which represent a diversity of opinions and social and cultural perspectives that support intellectual freedom and access to information, a prerequisite to effective and responsible citizenship in a democrac
