The School Board meets a minimum of nine times a year.  All regularly scheduled school board meetings will be open to the public.

The School Board plays an important role in providing input from the community to the Superintendent on many important matters.  However, because members of DDESS elected school boards are not officers or employees of the United States appointed under the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution, they may not exercise discretionary governmental authority, such as the taking of personnel actions or the establishment of governmental policies.
