The Information & Technology Program impacts the four overarching goals of the

Community Strategic Plan (CSP) | Standards: Information Literacy and Technology | 21st Century Skills

 

(Is a service that provides software training. Training sessions are short “atoms” of learning.)

(Is a technology integration tutorials product which includes online or downloadable tutorials, learning activities, resources, etc.)

(Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) links DoDEA Headquarters & Blackboard communities to facilitate resource sharing and communication.)

 

What Makes a Good Teacher?

Thoughts from some students…Learning Magazine asked eighth graders at Highland Junior High for tips that teachers could follow & got the following responses:

  • Don’t assign extra work to students who finish their work early.
  • Be mean.
  • Don’t be overconfident.
  • Correct papers with appropriate comments.
  • Be versatile.
  • Don’t yell.
  • Be patient.
  • Don’t give up on students.
  • Let students go to the bathroom
  • Be supportive & reassuring.
  • Have a sense of humor.
  • Don’t leave the classroom.
  • Check on students while they work.
  • Be qualified in your subject area.
  • Don’t be too intelligent.
  • Use textbooks.
  • Don’t have class favorites.
  • Don’t complain.
  • Dress neatly & stay young.
