Library Media Center (LMC)
The Library Media Center (LMC) maintains a collection of books, periodicals, CD-ROM, videos, microfiche, vertical file materials, and audio-visual equipment.
LMC Policies and Rules
A large part of your education will come from your personal contact with media material. In order to ensure this investment of time and energy is productive, it is necessary for each student to follow the rules and regulations of the.
- Students are expected to be quiet in the LMC at all times.
- Attendance will be limited to the seating capacity.
- Students must obtain an official pass signed by the teacher to be admitted to the LMC unless accompanied by a teacher.
- No food drinks, or chewing gum will be permitted.
- No game of any kind will be allowed in the Media Center during the academic day. Violation of this regulation will result in loss of computer, internet, and Media Center privileges.
- No large book bags, purses, briefcases, etc. are allowed at the tables.
- Students are allowed to take out a maximum of 6 books. General circulation books are checked out for two weeks.
- Return your own materials to the Media Center. Do not depend on someone else to do it for you. You may also use the return box outside the LMC door.
- Only Media Center, AV, and computer software are used in the Media Center. Non-book materials are available for use in the Media Center only.
- Lost books must be replaced by another book of equal value and content and/or paid for in cash.
- Students are not allowed to make copies on the Media Center Xerox copy machine. If photocopies are needed, the student must provide their own paper, and a staff member will make the copies for them.
- Misuse of the LMC facilities will result in the loss of privilege to use the library.
A librarian is available to assist students. Students showing improper behavior in the LMC will be sent to their classes or Administrative Office at the librarian's discretion. Students are also subject to further disciplinary action for misconduct.
