Assessments and Examinations

DoDEA Systemwide Assessment Program

Semester Examinations

With the exception of Advanced Placement courses, semester examinations are required of all students in all classes. This exam counts for 20% of the student’s semester average. Semester examinations will be approximately 90 minutes long and will cover content from the entire semester.

  • Students in grades 9-12 may be exempt from final exams if they have an A average for both quarters.
  • Excused absences from a semester examination are granted ONLY when one of the following conditions is met:
    • A medical certificate from a licensed physician certifying illness
    • A death in the family
    • A certifiable permanent change of duty station
    • PRIOR approval by the Principal
