Gifted Services

Gifted services are available to eligible students in grades K-5 at McBride School.  These services differentiate the content, process, and products of the regular classroom experience.  Service options include resource room classes, differentiation in the classroom, content acceleration, interdisciplinary opportunities, and individualized services.  Teaching models used to differentiate include concept development, problem-based learning, Socratic Seminar, and a research model.

Students who have received gifted services at another DoDEA school will automatically receive gifted services at McBride School; all other students must be referred to McBride School's Gifted Review Committee to be considered for gifted services using DoDEA's Gifted Identification Procedures.   Transfer students who have received gifted services at their previous (non-DODEA) school will be automatically referred for assessment.
