When the sponsor of a student is under orders for permanent change of station (PCS) which necessitates withdrawal of a student before the end of the school year (but after 15 May), the child will be promoted if the quality of work to that time is such that the student would have been promoted had he/she completed the school year.

Records of students' progress while enrolled in the Fort Benning Schools will be kept in the school office. Records will be safeguarded in keeping with the Family Education rights and Privacy Act of 1974. Parents will have access to their children's school records and will be encouraged to hand-carry copies of the records to the next duty station. Permanent records will be maintained for the period of time required by Georgia law. Sponsors must, at the time of withdrawal, check with the school office to complete a Student Clearance Slip.

Special Education records are kept at the Administrative Office on Custer Road. Parents may pick up copies of records at withdrawal; the complete special education file will be mailed upon request from the next school system.

From McBride to White Students attending McBride School and promoted from third to fourth grade will not need to hand-carry student records. Records will be transferred to White School.

From Fifth to Faith Students promoted from fifth grade to Faith Middle School's sixth grade will not need to hand-carry records. Each elementary school at Fort Benning will forward these records at the end of the student's fifth grade year provided the student is promoted.

From Fort Benning to Columbus The Columbus Roberts Center, 539 Brown Avenue, Columbus, Georgia, handles registration for all Muscogee County Schools. The student's Social Security card and proof of the parent's address will be needed to complete the assignment process. Proof of address will be: sales contract, rent receipt or current utility bill showing parent's name and address.The following documents are required at the school to complete the enrollment process: Birth certificate, Certificate of Immunization, Eye, Ear, and Dental Examination, Physical Examination, and Report Card.
