Mrs. BM's Fourth Grade Class

As the Reading/Language Arts teacher, I know every student will develop new language skills and a love of reading. As we begin a new year, please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions about your child and his or her progress.

reminderReminders:
Please look at the Stowers PTO page for information on our fundraisers such as Box Tops for Education, Pop Tops, Stevie B Pizza Night, and Popcorn/Spirit Day Friday. All of our children benefit from your participation!
All fourth-graders are expected to read at least 30 books during the year. They are able to check out three library books at a time, and are given a Reading log to record their reading time during each week. A minimum of 30 minutes per day is recommended. This is an important way for students to improve reading skills, as well as to provide a time to enjoy good literature. Please encourage your child to read as much as possible!

READING LOGS ARE DUE EACH FRIDAY!!!
All Language Arts classes will include instruction in the Traits Writing lessons. This will allow students to receive guided reading instruction using the Scholastic Orange program in their homeroom group.

Spelling homework is vital to learning to spell the 20 list words each week. Practice will help students learn to spell and use these words. It is required, and should be turned in completed on Friday. If not completed, it must become weekend homework as makeup work, and should be turned in on Monday with a parent signature. Please help your student to be on time with this assignment on Fridays.
