The children may bring water and a snack to have at the end of the day. Please put a change of clothes in your child’s backpack in case of emergencies. Some children get cold during the day so please send a light sweater or jacket for your child to have during the day if needed.

Look what we are learning. . .
We will be learning about Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving.

Students need to practice all sight words on the sight word list.

We will read stories about Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. They will read sight words found in books that we use throughout the week. The students will continue learning the letters and sounds – focusing on Hh and Tt for the week. They will use sight words and phonetic spelling to read and write in their journals.
This is a great website to use to practice reading skills. It is leveled, so you can start with the ABC’s and then go into reading. The website is www.starfall.com.
Math:
We will review patterns, graphing, and numbers 0-20 next week. The students should be able to count, identify each number, and match quantities to each number. Students will also do activities to review colors, shapes, sorting, and problem solving.
Science:
We will continue to look for changes in our weather and outside environment. We will discuss how animals are preparing for the winter and how food may be scarce during winter.
Social Studies:
Students will learn about the Pilgrims. They will learn how and why they came to America. Students will listen to stories about how the Native Americans and Pilgrims met and how they celebrated the first Thanksgiving.
We will continue to practice following the rules, routines, and safety measures. We will also discuss social skills and the importance of friendship.
