School Visitor Policy
SCHOOL VISITORS:
Because the safety of our students (your children) and employees are a top priority, all visitors during regular school hours, including parents, must sign in at the reception window, leave a picture ID with office personnel, and obtain a visitor’s badge/pass. Visitors are not allowed to be inside the school without a visitor’s pass at any time, which includes dropping off and picking up students. Anyone without a pass will be directed to the office to obtain one. We ask that you follow our procedure with courteous behavior. Failure to comply will result in the administration taking your behavior as a serious safety incident. We will not tolerate anyone jeopardizing our security plan. All children and employees will be safe at Stowers School
It is very important to your child that you share in his/her school life; therefore, you are invited and encouraged to visit the school for special programs, serve as a volunteer, or have lunch with your child. If you wish to eat lunch with your child and plan to purchase a school lunch, please call the school by 9:00 a.m. so your name can be added to the lunch count that day. The price for an adult/visitor lunch is $3.50. If you would like to bring a sack lunch to eat with child during his/her lunch time, calling ahead is not necessary. Just sign in when you arrive and obtain a cafeteria pass. (You may call the office to find out the time your child has lunch each day.)
Visitors are not allowed to disrupt class during instruction time. If you wish to visit your child’s classroom during instruction time, you must call the principal or assistant principal to arrange a time for a classroom visit. If you wish to have a conference with a member of the school staff, please call 544-2312 for an appointment. Teachers are available by appointment only. To keep class interruptions to a minimum, messages to students will be delivered at a convenient time. Lunches or other items will be left with office personnel who will see that it is delivered to your child. .
Classroom Visits/Observations:
• Please do not bring small children with you that may disrupt the learning process.
• Be involved in the classroom (if the activity allows it).
• If others are observing, please do not converse with them, as this will distract the class.
• Feel free to exit quietly at any time.
