Stowers' D.A.R.E. Program

The students, staff and faculty of Stowes are proud to welcome our new D.A.R.E. officer, Mr. G.G!
According to Officer G.G., the D.A.R.E. Program has been cited as one of the foremost drug prevention education programs in the world. D.A.R.E. targets students during their initial exposure to violence and peer pressure to use alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. The D.A.R.E. program provides tools and strategies to assist young people to build their self-esteem, manage stress and anger, resist media messages advocating drug use and identifying alternatives to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
D.A.R.E is a collaborative effort by certified law enforcement officers, educators, students, parents and community which focuses on educating students in the classroom in hopes of preventing or reducing drug abuse, violence, and gang involvement among children and youth, grades K-12.
