Stowers' Special Education Programs
Special Education programs for preschool children, children with moderate to severe disabilities, developmental delays, learning disabilities, and other special needs are available at Fort Benning Schools' Stowers Elementary. These special education programs, to include speech/language services, are available for children in grades Pre-K through 5. Students eligible to attend Fort Benning Schools and identified as meeting established criteria are eligible for special education services. Students transferring into Fort Benning Schools must also meet DODEA eligibility guidelines for special education services. Fort Benning Schools and Stowers Elementary continue to promote a least restrictive environment which provides the maximum benefit for each individual student. Child Find
Special Education services are available to all students including preschoolers. If you have concerns regarding your child's academic, physical, social, or language development, you may contact your child's teacher or the principal. Preschool children ages three and four years with developmental delays, physical disabilities, or speech-language problems may be eligible for services.
You may contact the Special Education Office at 706-545-5520 if you are concerned about your preschooler. For infants and toddlers, ages 0-2, you may contact Educational and Developmental Intervention Services at 706-545-3835.
