Dr. Emily Marsh Important Information From Dr. Emily Marsh

Dear Parents,

The Secretary of Defense has determined that most Department of Defense (DoD) civilian employees will be furloughed for up to 11 days. However, the Secretary approved for our teachers and some school level support staff to be furloughed for up to 5 days.  For Fort Bragg Schools, these five furlough days will be 30 August, 6 September, 13 September, 20 September, and 27 September. Schools will be closed for students on these five days if the furlough is enacted.  There will be no Wednesday early release time for students during the furlough period.

Fort Bragg Schools will begin for students on Monday, 26 August.  All schools will hold Open House activities and orientation for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.  You will receive specific information for these events from your child’s school. Your continued support is appreciated during this time.  The outstanding educators, administrators, and support staff of Fort Bragg Schools remain committed to providing our students a quality educational experience and supporting our military families. Please contact your child’s school or the District Superintendent's Office, 910-907-0200, with any questions you may have at this time.

Sincerely,

Emily Marsh, Ed.D.
Superintendent
