Criterion B
A condition
that has been confirmed by clinical evaluation and diagnosis and that,
over a long period of time and to a marked degree, adversely affects
educational performance and exhibits one or more of the following characteristics:
1. Inability
to learn that cannot be explained by intellectual, sensory, or health
factors;
2. Inability
to build or maintain satisfactory interpersonal relationships with peers
and teachers;
3. Inappropriate
types of behavior under normal circumstances;
4. Tendency
to develop physical symptoms or fears associated with personal or school
problems;
5. A general
pervasive mood of unhappiness or depression.
Services for
students identified as Emotionally Impaired are provided in the least
restrictive environment which may be the neighborhood school or more
restrictive settings such as the self-contained classroom at McNair
Elementary School or off post contractual arrangements
