The
Fort Bragg Schools' Cafeteria is looking forward to serving your
children during the school year. Breakfast and Lunch are served
to all students. Breakfast will be served to the A.M. Preschool
students. Lunch will be served to the P.M. Preschool students.

The
student will be given another tray at no charge.
Students
who do not have cash on the meal line or who have not made advance
payment will be ALLOWED A MEAL CHARGE FOR ONLY ONE DAY.
The student charging a meal will be given a computer charge slip
notifying the parent/guardian of a charged meal. Payment for overdue
charges must be made prior to meal service on the following day
in order for the student to receive a meal.
In
the event the parent pays in advance with a check on an account
that has insufficient funds, the school will notify the parent by
letter and phone call. A FIVE DOLLAR ($5.00) service charge will
be added to the check total. The parent/sponsor will make cash payment
to the School Food Service Administrative Office. Further checks
will be accepted if the delinquent check and service charge are
paid within 30 days of parent notification.
PROCEDURES
FOR RECEIVING AND PROCESSING
FREE AND REDUCED MEAL APPLICATIONS
|
|
The
Free and Reduced Meal Applications with Parent/Guardian letter
attached
is made available after July 1 of the new school year. The applications
are placed in strategic locations such as the Central Office
Reception
area; the Community Center; School Food Service Office.
Applications
are returned to the school collection clerk; reviewed by the clerk
to ensure that all essential information is provided.
Applications
are sent to the Central Office for processing. Once the application
is approved, the collection clerk will be informed of the change(s).
Parent/Guardian will be notified by mail.
Students
may pay for their lunch and breakfast meals in advance. Weekly,
biweekly or monthly payments will be accepted. Utilizing the prepayment
program is strongly suggested for the preschool students.
Parent/Guardian
may make advance payment arrangements by visiting the Collection
Clerk's office during the following hours each day: 8:00-10:00
a.m. and 1:30-3:00 p.m. Advance payment for meals cannot be accepted
on the lunch line.
The
Collection Clerk may also be reached by phone during the above times
regarding student meal accounts.

Advance
payment may also be sent to school with your child. Please enclose
payment in an envelope; include the following information on the
front of the envelope.

If
a child is absent or brings a meal from home, credit is maintained
for those days.
Ice
cream is an A La Carte item. ALL A La Carte items can be purchased
AFTER buying a school lunch. However, if a charge is owed,
the moneys must be paid BEFORE any A La Carte item can be
purchased.
Only
one lunch per child will be served at the advertised prices. Second
lunches will be purchased at A La Carte prices.
Ice
Cream choices and other school prepared desserts will be available
every day--cost is $.50 per serving. On special occasions - Birthday
Lunch and Special Holidays - a dessert will be designated as a treat
to celebrate the special event and will be free to all students
purchasing lunch. Some menus during a week will have a grain based
dessert added free of charge to the student meal to enhance the
bread requirement.
These
items can be purchased AFTER buying a school lunch. However,
if a charge is owed or is going to be made that day, it has to be
taken care of BEFORE any A La Carte items can be purchased.

MENU ANNOUNCEMENTS |

School
menus are announced daily over the local TV stations and are published
in the Paraglide and in the mini page of the Fayetteville Observer.
The menus are distributed monthly to each school and parents can
call the school and request a copy to be sent home by their child.
Menus are also available through the Fort Bragg Schools' website.

SALAD
WILL BE OFFERED EVERY DAY IN THE SCHOOLS!
K-4 Students will receive a salad plate with 2 pkg. of crackers
or 1 roll and milk for the price of their regular meal. Grades 5-9
Students will receive a salad plate with 2 pkg. of crackers or 1
roll and milk for the price of their regular meal.
Adult Salad Plate - Cost $2.50 (Beverage and Dessert extra at A
La Carte prices)

MILK AND JUICE PROCEDURE
|
|
A
beverage break is offered in the Elementary Schools. Milk is
$.35.
Orange juice is $.40. Payment for the break must be made in ADVANCE.
After
the initial opening of school, the beverage envelope will be sent
home with the student 6-10 days prior to the payment due date.
The
envelope will be collected by the classroom teacher and given to
the collection clerk. You may combine milk/juice payments for more
than one student, however, an envelope for each student must be
sent in with the combined payment.
Indicate the student's name, teacher's name and choice of milk or
juice on the envelope for each student. If advance payment is for
more than one student, stable envelopes together placing money/check
in the top envelope.
Please enclose the exact amount due for the mild/juice selection.
Milk and juice must be prepaid for the entire period. Mild and juice
for break time may not be purchased on a daily basis.

Mealtime
is an important part of your preschooler's day. Preschoolers have
their breakfast or lunch served shortly after arriving at school.
Please ensure that your child arrives at school at the appropriate
time so they may enjoy this mealtime experience. The fort Bragg
Schools Cafeteria staff looks forward to making your child's school
breakfast and lunch experiences happy ones!
Breakfast
and lunch will be offered to adults at A La
Carte prices.
Entrees
that have two or more items will not be divided.
Examples: Soup and Sandwich will be $1.50 even if you do not want
both. Scrambled eggs, grits and big biscuit or toast will
be $.75.

purchasing a Child's Salad will be charged $1.75 for the
student salad which includes 2 packages of crackers or 1 roll.
Beverage
is A La Carte.
Adult
Salad Plates will be offered and will include 2 packages
of crackers or 1 roll for $2.50. Tea or Milk is A La Carte.
Tea
Tea
is available only in the cafeteria during the lunch hour. Tea must
be served in the cup provided by the cafeteria. The tea cup can
be refilled during the assigned lunch period free of charge.
