Kindergarten Pictured: a red apple


*We have been working with printing and sponge painting in March as well as drawing.

*We made pictures of bugs in the grass stamping our finger print and making it into a bug.

*We painted the sky gently like a butterfly.

*We made “Original Works” pictures for our parents to enjoy on a coffee mug or a variety of other items.

*We are starting on a stitching unit, learning to thread the needle and stitch in a straight line. We are remembering the opposite words: up and down, in and out, push and pull.

*We will make crayon resist pictures with patterns.

*We will prepare our T-shirts for tie dying for field day.

*We will work on spring blossoms using ink and paint.

*We will work on 3-dimensional lessons.

*We will introduce the use of digital cameras to use with computers.

*Students will have a change to use the camera and take pictures of their classmates.


First Grade Pictured: a red apple

*We have been printing and sponge painting in March.

*Using our pointer, we have been printing our finger prints and turning them into bugs.

*We sponged sky and grass and used crayons to add dirt or ground.

*We made “Original Works” pictures for our PTO fundraiser.

*We just started our stitching unit.

*We are learning to thread a needle.

*We will be making crayon resist pictures focusing on patterns.

*We will be rubber banding our T-shirts in preparation for dying them for field day.

*We will work on spring blossoms using ink and paint.

*We will be making 3-dimensional flowers in May.

*We will introduce digital cameras to use with computers.

*Children will have the opportunity to take pictures of each other.

*We will be working with 3-dimensional lessons.

Second Grade Pictured: a red apple

*We read Dr. Seuss books and did illustrations for them.

*We introduced our printing unit and made printing plates of fish.

*We printed note cards from our fish printing plates.

*We did “Original Art Works” to support our PTO fundraisers.

*We created ocean bottom backgrounds using markers and crayons.

*We printed fish swimming in their environments.

*We will tie T-shirts with patterns for dying for field day.

*We will do crayon resist pictures for spring.

*We will begin a weaving unit and warp our looms in preparation for weaving.

*We will learn how to weave using patterns of colors.

*We will use computers in our room for a unit on computer art.

*We will have lessons in 3-dimensional art.


Third Grade Pictured: a red apple

*We celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading some of his books and by illustrating them.

*We entered a poster contest about keeping our air clean.

*We started a printing unit and made printing plates of clowns.

*We printed our clowns on note cards.

*We created circus environments and then printed our clowns on them.

*We created art for our PTO fundraiser “Original Art Works”.

*We will make spring crayon resist pictures.

*We will put patterns into our T-shirts in preparation for field day.

*We will make 3-dimensional art.

*We crafted tissue paper flowers.

*We will use the digital camera and learn to transfer our pictures into an art folder.

*We will use oil pastels to create portraits.

 

Fourth Grade Pictured: a red apple


*We celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading and illustrating the stories.

*We studied buildings and created printing plates of building to start our printing unit.

*We printed our buildings on note cards.

*We created “Original Art Works” to support the PTO fundraiser.

*We created environments for our houses and then printed our houses on them.

*We will make spring pictures using crayon resist.

*We will prepare our T-shirts for tie dying for field day.

*We will make modern portraits using oil pastels.

*We will study about Picasso and his modern portraits.

*We will make 3-dimensional art.

*We will do a craft unit using tissue paper and pipe cleaners.

*We will study the digital camera and take pictures.

*We will learn to transfer our pictures into art files on the computer.
