McNair School celebrated "Read Across America" on March 19, 2009. We based our activities on NEA's "Read Across America" and Dr. Seuss' birthday which were both in March. "Read Across McNair" involved community and military guest
readers in classrooms throughout the morning. After "Read Across McNair" community volunteers finished reading to us, we gathered in the multipurpose room to listen to a storyteller, watch reader's theatre, and to listen to poetry readings
and have a sing-a-long. As a thank you from our school, we provided our readers with certificates and gift bags to show our appreciation to them. Pictured below are some of the reading
activities held in honor of "Read Across McNair" Day.
