The request should include the time frame and the reason for the request. If you are requesting LWOP to accompany your spouse who has received military orders, a copy of your spouse's reassignment orders must be attached to the RPA. If due to illness, you must furnish documentation to support the medical condition and a statement that you expect to return to duty so that a Return to Duty RPA may be completed by your supervisor. |

Complete PART E on the RPA including the statement that you understand you have no return rights to your position. You will also need to provide a forwarding address.

Complete a Resignation RPA which will be effective the day after the last day of your LWOP. |

It is your responsibility to notify your Human Resources Office if you have a current TSP loan. This will enable them to complete a TSP-41, Notification To TSP Of Nonpay Status, which they must submit to the Accounts Maintenance Branch, Thrift Savings Plan Operations Office. |
