In the event of an emergency closing, the Superintendent of Schools shall make appropriate announcements at the earliest possible opportunity, informing the parents and the public of the decision to close the Fort Bragg Schools, and apprising Command and the President of the Fort Bragg School Board of such action.
School Administrators and Principals have specific notification plans in case inclement weather makes it necessary to cancel or close school. Local radio and television stations begin announcing school cancellations, delays or early dismissals as soon as possible after they are notified.
Announcements about cancellation or delay could be made in the evening or early morning. Local radio and television stations will be notified including Dragon Radio on Fort Bragg.
Parents are asked to listen to these radio and/or television stations for information rather than telephoning the schools or media for information. If school cancellations or delays ARE NOT announced through the various media, the Fort Bragg Schools will open as scheduled.
Parents are encouraged to discuss the plan of action for inclement weather with their children to avoid last minute confusion. In case of early dismissal, children should know ahead of time if they are to ride the bus, walk home or wait for a parent at a neighbor's home. HOW TO FIND OUT ABOUT SCHOOL CLOSINGS:
