Homework Routine/Expectations

Let's be homework heroes!  Please monitor your child's homework daily.  Discuss the quality of the work and set high expectations together.  When you accept less than your child's best effort, you are teaching your child to accept less than his best.  Our expectation is that each child work to the best of his ability.  We appreciate your cooperation and support.

• Your child will receive a homework folder the second week of school.  With proper care this folder should last all year.

• Homework folders are returned daily.  Parents are asked to sign daily to indicate that they have reviewed and approved completed work.

• Begin all assignments with name and date at the top of the page.  Neat work is expected.Your homework station should include crayons, pencils, scissors, glue and a stapler.

• Participation in Devers Home Reading is required second grade homework.  Weekly reading goals are set.  Folders are checked on the first school day of each week.
