Student Activities

Singing Eagles

The Singing Eagles is our afterschool chorus that meets every Tuesday from 2:45 - 3:20 in the music room 7. We sing a variety of music at school events and PTA meetings. The group is limited to 35 students in 3rd and 4th grade. Auditions are held during September and again in February. We have a lot of fun and learn many things about our singing voices throughout the school year.

Home Reading

The Home Reading program will begin October 1, and the students will enjoy a Home Reading Pep Rally on September 28. Students will be given a home reading calendar each month to use to track their reading. The calendar must be colored, signed and returned by the first school day of the month.

We hope to have 100% participation this year. Each child can become a Holbrook Reading Detective and guess who our Mystery Readers are. When parents fill in the monthly calendars, the children can earn celebrations and personal pan pizzas. What a great way to triple your rewards for reading some GREAT books!

HOLBROOK READS!

Club USA

Club USA addresses the effects of deployment and reunion on children and families. All Holbrook students are part of Club USA because all students are affected by pre-deployment, deployment, reunion and non-deployment status. Through group activities and discussions, students share experiences and ideas to cope with the various cycles of deployment. Students will be involved in creating a Wall of Honor in the main hallway. They will enjoy a deployment puppet show.

Safety Patrol

Fourth grade students assist students as they arrive at school in the morning. The patrol monitors behavior as students line up outside and as they enter the school building and proceed to their classrooms.

The technology club is for students who have a desire to spend more time expressing their creativity through technology activities. The technology club uses our state of the art computer lab to explore digital photography, virtual technology, the Internet, and various software applications in fun and exciting ways Projects differ from those taught in the regular classroom program. Technology club is available to 16 students and meets on Tuesday afternoons from 2:45 to 3:20. Food and drink are not allowed in the computer lab.
