Homebound Services
Horizontal bar
Fort Bragg Schools will provide homebound instruction to those medically disabled students who cannot attend school, due to confinement to a hospital or home for treatment or convalescence for an extended period of time, usually 3 weeks or more. (Parents are encouraged to request work from the student's teacher for shorter periods of school absence).

Sponsors of student requesting Homebound Instruction must submit a completed Physician's Request. The Physician's Request will describe the nature and extent of the illness, any physical or psychological limitations present, and the anticipated length of time the student is expected to be incapacitated. The Physician's Request must be reviewed and resubmitted by the physician at the beginning of each school semester if the need for Homebound continues.

Eligible students will be provided instruction based upon individual needs from 3 to 5 hours per week, unless prohibited by impairment. Recipients of Homebound Instruction are considered to be in attendance and their work assignments will be used in consideration of classroom grades and promotion.

For students who have been found eligible for Special Education services, the IEP Committee will determine the appropriate length and amount of service based on the individual student's needs.

Requests for Homebound Instruction will be received through the principal's office.

Further inquiry regarding Homebound Services may be directed to the Instructional System Specialist for Student Services: Bragg.Student.Services@am.dodea.edu
