- What is Reading Counts (RC)?
Scholastic Reading Counts! is the computer-based reading program used at our school to promote reading test comprehension, it also tracks student progress.
The Lexile Framework for Reading is a tool that places readers and text on the same scale. Student’s reading abilities will be evaluated and assigned a Lexile level anywhere from beginning reader (BR) to 1200. Books in our Media Center are marked with color coded dots that correspond to these levels so that students may read and test on books at their reading level. This technology enables educators to evaluate curriculum needs based on each student's ability to comprehend materials. |
