, November 20, 2009

School will dismiss for students at 11:20 on Tuesday, November 24th.

The Falcon Football team beat Trigg County Friday night at Fryar Stadium in Game 2 of the Playoffs. They will play Murray HS this Friday (11/20) at Murray for the Region 2A championship. Come out and support the Falcon Football team.

Student Council is sponsoring a canned food drive thru Nov 20th. Your donations will be given to the Loaves and Fishes organization in Clarksville to help those in our community that are in need.  Bring canned and non-perishable food items to your Seminar.  The Seminar that makes the most donations will win a pizza party on Nov 23rd.  If we donate enough items to fill one of the principal’s office, all 3 principals will dance at our next pep assembly.

Applications for the KY Governor’s Scholarship Program are available in the guidance office.  An e-mail was sent to all Junior’s last week that the applications are available thru Dec 9th, 2009.  See Guidance for an application or for information about applying online.

FEA will be selling Gobble-Grams all week during lunch for only $1.00.  Cranberry Splash Sierra Mists with your messages will be delivered to Seminars on Monday before Thanksgiving.  Support FEA and buy a Gobble-Gram for friends and yourself!

TCC meeting for today has been canceled.

The Spanish Club is sponsoring a little soldier.  We are collecting items for a 2 year old boy.  If you are interested come by Mrs. Pagans room and sign up to help us out.  Contributions must be in by Dec 4th.

KY students have until Dec 4th to submit entries in the national “What Would You Do” video contest.  Videos can be submitted by individual students or by team of up to 5 students.  Prizes are: 1st - $2500, 2nd $1500, 3rd $1000.  All finalists will receive $100. If the winning video is entered by a team, the prize money will be split among the team members.  Videos will be shown on the Internet.  See Coach Brown about contest details or visit: www.bridges.com/video/.  The contest is sponsored by Xap/Bridges which provides support for GoHigherKY.org., the states one-stop college and career planning web site.

Seniors going on the U of KY trip on Monday, November 23rd must have their permission slips in today.  If you still need a U of KY application you can find it the counseling office and must have it filled out by Monday.  Remember, the application fee is waived because we are taking the applications with us.  Any questions see Dr Peavie.
