How do I earn my participation grade?

  (5 = Always/Almost Always, 4 = Usually/Often, 3 = Sometimes, 2 = Rarely, 1 = Not Evident)

________1. Arrive on time, prepared with your 3 ring binder, paper, textbook,   headphones, and a pencil or pen.

 

________2. Take proper seat and promptly be ready to begin class.

 

________3. Show respect for classroom and equipment; no food or drink. 

 

________4. Speak only at appropriate times. 

 

________5. Show respect for your classmates and teacher.

 

________6. Actively contribute to group discussions; volunteer to answer questions. 

 

________7. Do all assigned work to the best of your ability. 

 

________8. Practice perceptive listening when hearing music, live or recorded. 

 

________9. Follow all instructions when they are given.

 

A participation grade of F is earned for the period during which ANY of the following behaviors occur. Such behaviors may also lead to disciplinary consequences.

 

________ Talking out of turn while a classmate has the floor.

 

________ Speaking out of turn while the teacher is speaking.

 

________ Any behavior that is disruptive, distracting, or detrimental to the work of the class.
