Ft. Campbell Community Schools Secondary Volunteer Opportunities Welcome volunteers! There are many ways to be involved at the middle school level: After school mentoring/tutoring program AVID tutoring Media Center Support Academic Support in individual classrooms Clerical Support Dance Chaperones Book Fair workers Volunteers to work with non-English speaking students Honors Breakfasts PTO Volunteer opportunities are tutoring after school, Monday through Thursday of each week beginning after Labor Day at each grade level.. We will also host our annual Fall Festival some time in October which is a huge event organized by the teachers. Volunteers are especially needed at all Clubs: Chess Club, Computer Club, Drama Club, NJHS, Student Council, Video Production Club, Student Newspaper, Math Counts, and Intramurals. The high school presents unique challenges. Volunteers are more than welcome. 1. IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEES: School Improvement Team (SIT), Attendance Committee 2. EXTRACURRICULAR ASSIST: Athletics, Band, JROTC, Fundraising, Sales, Concessions 3. BAKING: Teacher Appreciation Day, Dances, Academic Breakfast, etc. 4. TUTORS: During and After School, Social Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Foreign Language, Math, 5. FRIEND OF THE CLASS: Assist Class Sponsors in Fundraising, Dances, Food Sales, etc. 6. LIBRARY: Circulation, Shelving, Processing,, Assist Students with Research and Computers. 7. PUBLIC RELATIONS: Write articles and news releases; act liaison between school and media. 8. SCHOOL SUPPORT SERVICES: Clerical Assist: typing, filing, duplicating, answering phones, etc. 9. SPEAKERS: Country or Topic (for Social Studies); For Careers; Other Areas. 10. VISION/HEARING SCREENINGS: Assist nurse in paperwork and logistics. 11. STUDENT SUPERVISION: Assist SRO and AP in the supervision of students (before/after school, lunch, activities, etc.). |
