Special School Board Election
The Fort Campbell School Board held its annual election in conjunction with each school's open house this past fall. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the representative for New Lee Village , Milcon, and LaPointe Village has resigned her position. To fill this vacancy, a special election is scheduled for 11-15 February 2008.
The Fort Campbell School Board participates in the development and oversight of programs for DoD DDESS school systems.
To be elected as a member of the school board, an individual must be a resident of the military installation and reside in the area they wish to represent. Personnel employed by a DoD DDESS school system may not serve as school board members.
Interested candidates may obtain a nominating petition from the Fort Campbell Schools' Administrative Office during business hours through 31 January 2008. The petition requires one signature from a person residing in the aforementioned housing areas. The petition must be filed and returned to the administrative office on or before 31 January 2008.
