DRESS CODE 2006-2007

COLORS:

Bottoms/Dresses - khaki, navy, gray, dark green, or black

Tops - any color

All clothing should be in solid colors. Acceptable fabrics are cotton, corduroy, or wool. No spandex (other stretch material), nylon, denim, leather, or leather-like material is allowed.

Shirts and Tops - Boys and Girls

•  Pullover polo style or oxford style dress shirts/blouses with short or long sleeves and must have a collar.

•  All shirts/blouses must be tucked in at the waist so the waistband can be seen. Short tops that cannot be tucked in (or will not stay tucked in) should not be worn.

•  Sweaters must be pullovers, cardigan, sweater vest, or sweater shirt style.

•  Size appropriate sweaters and sweatshirts ( no hoods) must be worn over policy approved shirt.

•  Turtleneck sweaters are acceptable. Turtleneck shirts must be worn under an approved sweater or sweatshirt.

•  Shirts, blouses, sweaters, and sweatshirts are to be solid colors of white, navy, yellow, green, yellow, royal blue, or gray (no florescent or neon).

•  No sleeveless, see-through materials, excessively tight or revealing clothing. Authorized school logos are allowed. Manufacturers logos, no larger than 2" X 2", are now allowed on Polo Shirts. (IZOD, POLO, etc..)

 

Slacks/Walking Shorts - Boys and Girls

•  Must be a reasonable length with waist ban fitting at the natural waist and worn so waist band remains above the hips and in solid colors of khaki, navy, or black.

•  Walking shorts or skorts must have a 7 to 9 inch inseam and should be no shorter than 3 to 4 inches above the knee.

•  Chino , khaki, docker, or dress style slacks with belt loops are acceptable.

•  Girls' slacks, shorts, and skorts without belt loops are acceptable.

•  Belts must be worn and fit actual waist size without any excess hanging down. No hip hugger bottoms will be worn.

•  Authorized school logos are allowed. Manufacturers logos, no larger than 2" X 2", are now allowed on Polo Shirts. (IZOD, POLO, etc..)

•  The following are not acceptable:

Cargo or five-pocket pants, overalls, painter

pants, denim jeans or jean style pants in any

color, spandex pants, pants with draw

strings or excessive flair bottoms, pants with

leg pockets, excessively tight, baggy,

revealing clothing.

 

Jumpers/Dresses/Skirts - Girls

•  Skirts, jumpers and dresses are to be in the approved solid colors of khaki, navy, or black.

•  Skirts without belt loops are acceptable.

•  Jumpers must be without bibs, no derivatives of overalls.

•  Skirts, jumpers, and dresses must fall at a length that is appropriate for school which is no more than 3 to 4 inches above the knee (both front and back) . The final determination of length falls to the judgment of school administrators.

•  No logos or denim skirts are allowed.

Miscellaneous

  • For safety reasons, shower shoes and house slippers should not be worn to school.
  • No sweatbands (head or wrist) may be worn except in physical education classes.
