Clubs and ActivitiesMarshall offers the following afterschool activities to the students Instrumental Music for 4th and 5th grades.
Operation HeroOperation Hero meets two times per week during a nine week period and is designed to assist children in grades 2-5 that may be experiencing temporary difficulty in school, both academically and/or socially due to frequent military moves, deployment concerns or low self-esteem. The program is sponsored by the Army Services YMCA. For additional information on this program contact theguidance counselor at Marshall School. Tutoring for grade levels 2nd - 5thThe second grade after school tutoring program is offered one day per week for one hour throughout the school year. The group has between 8-10 children in it and is designed to help students having difficulty in reading/language arts. The weekly story is reviewed along with the week’s spelling and/or vocabulary words. During the tutoring session other skills such as putting words in ABC order and a focus on story comprehension is also addressed. The fourth grade after school program includes a variety of approaches to reading skills. Guided Reading, phonematic awareness, and technology help enhance each student’s reading abilities. Vocabulary sorting, Kidspiration software, and online activities are some of the fun activities apart of the fourth grade after school program. Art ClubPE Central
