Pupil Personnel Services

Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) facilitate Goal One of DoDEA’s Community Strategic Plan, that is - highest student achievement. Specifically, outcome B, "Opportunities To Learn and Citizenship," is emphasized by providing assistance to students through:

  • School counselors
  • School nurses
  • School psychologists

Opportunities to Learn and Citizenship

“All students will have access to varied and challenging learning opportunities and appropriate interventions and/or modifications to meet the standards and foster lifelong learning and productive citizenship.”

The PPS staff pool their experience and expertise and work as a collaborative team with teachers to resolve students’ academic and or social problems. Each school has the following collaborative forums:

  • Student Support Teams (SST)
  • Nondiscrimination and Accommodation on the Basis of Disability (Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act)
  • Case Study Committee (CSC) for special education services.

The PPS team collaborates with families and the local military community members, when appropriate to ensure academic and mental wellness for each student.

Due to the challenges that military-connected students have transitioning from one school system to another; the PPS team assists the students and their families with transition activities that promote well-being.

Each discipline of the PPS has guidance that provides the framework for their program services:
