Fort Bragg School's Name to Honor Soldier's Memory

October 1, 2008

Master Sergeant Gary Ivan Gordon was one of 18 U.S. Army Special Forces troops killed in a firefight with militiamen in Mogadishu, Somalia, in October 1993. The Gary Ivan Gordon Elementary School will open its doors to students in January 2009. Read the News Release (PDF 55.4 KB)
