What's Happening in Mrs. K's Class?

Look at what we're learning

During the past several weeks my fourth graders have been reading and learning about the state they live in.  They know about many interesting and historic places located in South Carolina.   Just ask them. Many of these places can be reached in just a few hours and would be a wonderful outing on the week-end.

Each student has created a poster illustrating these places and the facts they have learned.  Do you know what our state dog is ?  Our state fish?   Our state animal?   These posters are hanging on the wall outside our classroom.

Stay tuned for our next unit of study.

HOMEWORK-

SINCE MANY OF MY STUDENTS ARE WORKING ON INDIVIDUAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES, HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE POSTED WEEKLY ON THIS WEBPAGE. CHECK YOUR CHILD'S AGENDA BOOK FOR ASSIGNMENTS. ALSO EACH OF MY STUDENTS HAVE A HOMEWORK FOLDER WHICH CONTAINS THEIR ASSIGNMENT FOR THE NIGHT. FOR MY READING STUDENTS IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ WITH YOUR CHILD EACH NIGHT FOR 20-30 MINUTES. DON'T FORGET TO SIGN THEIR READING LOG SHEET SO THAT THEY MAY RECEIVE CREDIT FOR HOMEWORK COMPLETED. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

PARENTS,  WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE FOR ME TO INCLUDE ON MY WEBPAGE?   I WOULD LOVE  TO HEAR YOUR SUGGESTIONS.

Class Rules

  1. Respect yourself and others.
  2. Follow directions and procedures.
  3. Turn in neat work on time.
  4. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  5. Listen when someone speaks.

Tips For Learning

Try to incorporate math and reading into everyday activities. For example, when cooking have your child read recipes and directions and measure ingredients. This will be a fun and wonderful learning experience.
