What's Happening in Mrs. G's Class?
Parents,
January has arrived. We are almost at the mid-year point,but we have a long way to go.
Don’t forget to check their folders every night.
Breakfast is so important. A full tummy helps to keep our minds alert.
Children between 5 and 7 need between 10 to 12 hours of sleep daily.
Homework should never take longer than 25 minutes including their reading.
Reading
We have started our first primer" Imagine That". There is more text and lots of new skills. Please make sure the children are reading/being read to daily .We are reading fairy tales and learning to evaluate characters, setting, plot and outcomes.
Math
This is a graet time to let the children practice grouping things into 5's 10's and 2's. Let them count the change in your pocket.We are the learning the relationship between addition and subtraction facts.
Science
Check out "Sid The Science Kid" on ETV at 12:30 daily.We are studying the artic world and learning some fascinating facts about Penguins.
