Fort Jackson School Counseling Mission

It is the mission of the Fort Jackson School Counselor to provide curriculum that offers each student the opportunity and  guidance necessary to develop skills in order to serve the community and society and to achieve personal fulfillment in the areas of

The School Counselor's commitment is to develop a Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade Comprehensive Guidance Program to address the mental, physical, social, and emotional development of each Fort Jackson School student. The School Counselor and her puppet friend encourage problem solving skills and students practice these skills with their classmates at play.

Fort Jackson Developmental Guidance

The Fort Jackson School Developmental Guidance Program includes all students. The School Counselor teaches ongoing skills in guidance and/or small groups in the areas of:

Parenting materials are available in the Pierce Terrace Parents' Corner. This area is locate in the Pierce Terrace  Information Center and offers many games and parenting materials for you and your family plus a comfortable area to relax and browse.  The Pierce Terrace Card Shop provides free cards for military families and is located in the school entry near the office.

A Look Ahead

In guidance class the chldren are learning more about how to use Kelso Choices to solve small problems at home and at school. Big problems need assistance by asking a trusted adult to give support.

Class Rules

  1. Treat other with kindness and repsect.
  2. Do your best work.
  3. Take care of school property.
  4. Play and work safely.
  5. Listen when someone is speaking.

Guidance and Counseling Services are for all students!  

Guidance classes are scheduled weekly for each Pre-Kindergarten-2nd grade classroom. Small groups and individual counseling are provided on request by students, parents, and/or teacher. These services are scheduled during school hours.  Contact the School Counselor or your child's teacher to request counseling services.
