SCHOOL NURSE

Nurse with children  Nurse with Children  Nurse with children

Meet your School Nurse!

I am known to the Pierce Terrace students and staff as Mrs. E, or Nurse E.  My health office is located in the main office area.  I love my office.  It has lots of giraffes.   You are invited to stop by and meet your school nurse.

I do not take the place of care provided by the family or other medical professionals.  It is my goal that through the school health program, children and families can develop the knowledge necessary to remain healthy and perform well in school.

What does a School Nurse do?

  • Provides consultation to students, parents, teachers, and the community
  • Coordinates health screening programs
  • Makes referrals to other medical professionals
  • Identifies students who are acutely ill, and notifies the student's parent
  • Maintains student health records including immunizations, health room visits,  and medications administered
  • Acts as a liaison between the school, home, community and other medical professionals
