School ImprovementPierce Terrace Elementary School has its own School Improvement Team. The Team consists of teachers, administrators, and parents. It’s mission is to continually review and recommend activities necessary for school improvement. The Team writes a yearly School Improvement Plan to address the goals and outcomes of the Department of Defense Education Activity Community Strategic Plan. Accreditation Team VisitationAn accreditation team from AdvancED visited our school on March 22 and 23, 2007. The team visited all classrooms, held focus groups with parents, students, and teachers, and reviewed our school improvement plan. They determined that we met all the standards set by the AdvancED organization and that we are truly working with the School Improvement Process. Thus, we were granted accreditation for the next five years. The team made suggestions as to how we can improve our work so we will use those suggestions to examine our goals, strategies, and instructional program. The Pierce Terrace School staff has worked very hard to prepare for this visit and we will continue to provide an outstanding program for our students.
