Off-post families may register children for Fort Knox Schools.
Families currently residing off-post who will be eligible for housing on Fort Knox within 180 (school) days may register their school-age children to attend Fort Knox Community Schools.
The family must provide transportation to and from school.
School closing information is available during inclement weather.
The Fort Knox Community Schools are very seldom closed for inclement weather. Base operations support generally is able to keep the primary roads open.
School closings or delayed openings are telecast on Fort Knox's TV Channel 98 and posted on the Fort Knox Web site at www.knox.army.mil [external link].
In the event school is dismissed early, parents are asked to inform the school office of the location they want their children sent, if it differs from the usual location.
