Technology Program

The Fort Knox Community Schools are fully supported by significant hardware, software, and technology staff at both the district and the school levels.

Highlights of computer technology:

  • Each school has a high performance Local Area Network that enables computer users to access programs and files on servers and to share devices, such as laser printers.
  • Every school has a computer lab, and the larger schools have two computer labs.
  • All schools have computers connected to the Internet in every lab, classroom and library information/media center.
  • Fort Knox High School has a distance-learning program.
Highlights of audiovisual and television technology:
  • Every school has a digital network that brings Kentucky Educational Television programs into the classroom.
  • All schools have closed circuit and cable television programs.
  • Every school has numerous televisions, VCRs, DVD players, and projectors.
   Fort Knox High School has numerous multi-computer classrooms for desktop publishing, computer-assisted design, business productivity applications, physics and math, programming, distance learning, and Internet use. computer classroom
Students in lab     All schools have one or more computer labs, giving students access to varied electronic learning resources.
   Every school has a library/media center equipped with computers connected to the Internet, electronic card catalogs, and audio-visual technologies. Student in media center
KET Broadcast Receiver      Each school has a digital network for Kentucky Educational Television, a closed-circuit TV system, and a cable TV system for other educational programs.
