Clubs and Activities

Teachers sponsor our extra-curricular activities, in most instances. Listed are the clubs presently offered at Macdonald. For more information, contact the school office or your student's homeroom teacher.

The following clubs meet in the morning before school from 0730 - 0815.

  • Chorus: Open to students who love to sing.
  • Piano Club: Offered for beginners as well as students who have knowledge of the piano.
  • Fitness Club: Work out with the PE teacher to learn about health and fitness. Offered to all students.
  • Junior Red Cross: this is a community service group open to all students.
  • Student Computer Techies: Open to students interested in technology and demonstrated leadership skills. Students are nominated by their teacher.

The following clubs meet after school from 1530 - 1630

  • Art Club: Club time will vary on the grade level. Open to all students who show an interest in art.
  • Stock Market Club: Application is submitted to sponsor for selection. Open to 5th and 6th grade students. Nation-wide online competition.
  • Science Club: Open to all students who love science.
  • Chess Club: Open to all students looking for a challenge. Beginners as well as experienced players are welcome to join.
  • BETA Club: Open to 5th and 6th grade students who maintain A's and B's on their report card and demonstrate leadership in the school. Recommendation is done by teacher and principal.
  • Drama Club: Open to all students who enjoy acting or mime. Selection is done through auditions.

Other clubs and interest groups may be created as interest is generated and volunteer sponsors are found.
