Student Conduct

Pierce students are accountable for their own behavior.

School Rules:

  1. Follow directions.
  2. Keep your body under control.
  3. Use appropriate language.
  4. Use a voice appropriate to the setting and activity.

Consequences:

1st occurrence: Warning
2nd occurrence: 3 minute time-out
3rd occurrence: Withheld from weekly or monthly activity
4th occurrence: Call home
5th occurrence: Visit the principal

**Crisis Intervention-Immediate action by the principal will be taken for the following actions:

  • Causing physical harm to self or others
  • Destruction of property
  • Open defiance of authority

(Please be aware that threatening comments made by children regardless of their age will not be dismissed. Children need to know the seriousness of such comments and that there are serious consequences. We strongly urge you to talk to your child(ren) about making comments such as, "I'm going to kill..." or "I'll get a gun..." to students or staff members. These types of comments are viewed by DoDEA and the Fort Knox Community Schools as threatening behaviors. Again, let we emphasize that due to the serious nature of these comments; we have no other option but to apply serious consequences that include suspension.)

1st Visit with the Principal:

  • Principal confers with the student
  • Principal call parent(s)
  • Notation of occurrence is made on a separate office card
  • Student will spend one hour in detention

2nd Visit with the Principal:

  • Child finished the day in detention
  • Child receives a "pink card" notifying the parent that the child cannot return to school unless accompanied by the military sponsor
  • Child receives a pink consultation form to see the counselor
  • Notation of occurence is made on separate office card

3rd Visit with the Principal:

  • Parent is called to pick up the child from school immediately
  • The child will remain in time-out until the parent arrives
  • The child will attend group counseling sessions and work on a contract devised by the teacher, student, and counselor
  • Notation of occurence is made on separate office card

4th Visit with the Principal:

  • Suspension (at principal's discretion) in accordance with Administrative/School Board Policy
