Attendance

Attendance Notes

  • If your child needs to be absent from school, please notify us by calling (502) 624-5854/8519.
  • If your student has a medical or dental appointment, a note from the doctor's office is helpful for record-keeping purposes.

More Policies & Procedures

Additional policies and procedures can be accessed in the Student Handbook (provided to all students).

Students who walk or furnish their own transportation and are not participating in the breakfast program should not arrive at school earlier than 0810 hours. Upon arriving at school students are to go directly to their assigned classroom.

In order to insure student safety, we ask that you call the school in the morning if your child will be absent or late.

Please call 624-5854 to inform the school of your child's absence. Illness, doctor's visits, and death in the immediate family are excused absences and make-up work will be provided if requested. No make-up assignments, however, can replace a missed classroom learning experience.

Students who return or arrive late to school after an appointment are to be signed in to school at the office by their parent/guardian. A pass will be issued to admit/readmit the student to class. A written excuse for the student's absence should be given to the office.

Students who leave school before dismissal must be signed out at the office by their parent/guardian. After the parent/guardian completes the sign out procedure, the student will be called to the office and released to their parent/guardian. For your child's safety we conduct a 100% ID check before we release any child. Please be sure to have your picture ID available when you sign out your child.

We encourage you to make school attendance as a top priority. Aches and pains can be "forgotten" as you help your child prepare for each new day. Try to schedule medical appointments and family trips when school is not in session. Your child will sense the importance you place on school attendance and keeping up with assignments. In the event that your child appears reluctant to come to school, please encourage him/her to tell you why and contact the school counselor or your child's teacher to share any concerns and/or observations you may have.
