Fort Knox High School serves students in grades 9 through 12, offering a comprehensive program through a wide variety of courses. All areas of study are "core courses" at the high school. Advanced placement courses are offered in several areas. The high school operates on a block schedule, with eight classes over a two day period. Students take part in a program called "Encore," in which blocks of time are devoted to goal setting, co-curricular activities. Athletic programs are competitive, with wrestling, football, cross-country, and track state championship awards highlighting an extensive trophy case. Fort Knox High School offers an exceptional Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program, centering on leadership and communication skills, helping students to become better citizens of the United States. The high school unit has been designated an honor unit with distinction for decades. More than 34 percent of the students enrolled at FKHS take JROTC.
