First, let me say that we are truly grateful for everyday that we have an opportunity to improve the quality of life for our students at Kingsolver.

We are nearing the completion of our first nine weeks of school and we are happy to report that we have accomplished much in our learning community.  Thank you parents for entrusting us with the educating of your child.

During the first month of school, our students have been given guidance lessons on Respect and Responsibility. They have  demonstrated good listening skills in the classroom, they have learned to treat their peers and  teachers the way they want to be treated, and are continually putting forth their best efforts to learn something new each day.

They’ve also experienced new learning by going to the Kentucky State Fair.  That was an excellent learning opportunity for so many of our students. Many have learned how to read and write, while others have learned what it means to be a friend.  We have had countless of volunteers to come to our building to lend their support in the mission of our school.  We must remember that we are a team, working together to accomplish the mission.  Our  goal is to strive daily to be the best that we can be and without the support of parents and volunteers we can not achieve that goal.  Thank you to all of our volunteers.

In the future, my hope is to offer some Parenting Sessions on topics related to the school.  We believe that parents play a key role in the success of a child’s learning environment and we want to help equip you with some of the basic tools and techniques that we use in our learning community.

Also, one last tidbit, as the weather begins to change, it is necessary that the children are dressed appropriately.  Light sweaters and jackets, long sleeve shirts, and pants should be worn at this time.  Teachers do take their classes outside for activities and we want to make sure that they are dressed in the right clothing.

If you ever have any questions or concerns about anything, know that my door is always open for you.
