- What kind of-extra curricular activities are available for students while attending Scott Middle School?
- We have a wide range of extra-curricular activities that will hopefully meet the interest of your child. Please refer to our program menu and select the activity of interest.
- When my child is sick or away from school with an excused absence, how do I request his/her homework assignments?
- If your child is ill, especially for an extended period of time, or if you know in advance that your child will be out of school (i.e., emergency leave), you might want to call the office before 8:00 a.m. and request your child’s homework assignments for that period of time. You will need to come by the school’s office between 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. to pick up the assignments for that day.
- If my child needs to take medication during the school day, whom do I contact?
- Our school nurse is responsible for administering medications during the school day. She is available to service students each day. The nurse will arrange for medications to be given by our office staff if needed. Please contact her to inform her of your need. She will make the appropriate accommodations to dispense the medication.
- How do I withdraw my child from school?
- We would appreciate one week’s notice before withdrawing your child from Scott Middle School. This gives us ample time to process the necessary paperwork for a withdrawal. Please be advised that your child’s cumulative records will not be released at this time. We will release those records to the next attending school at their request and with your approval.
- How would I or my child pay in advance for his/her lunch?
- Parents or guardians may deposit money into a student’s lunch account between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. If the student is going to deposit money into his/her account, it should be done as soon as they arrive at school in the morning. Only those students paying for a full price lunch may pay in cash upon ordering. All other accounts will require a deposit.
- How will I know if school is canceled because of inclement weather?
- The number for inclement weather is 624-5000. You can also tune into cable channel 98 or listen to WAKY-FM 103.5. You can also check the Fort Knox web site www.knox.army.mil
