The Junior Kentucky United Nations Assembly is sponsored by the Kentucky YMCA. The model United Nations Assembly is held annually with representatives from other middle schools to simulate the day to day operations of the UN. Scott School annually sends two delegations representing different countries

To the convention. The students dress and act as the delegates form their country would. Students write, sponsor and speak on legislation they have presented for consideration before the assembly.

The students prepare for the event by meeting once a week after school beginning in December and continuing through March. All Scott students are eligible to participate in the program after meeting the criteria. Students must receive favorable recommendation sheets (checklist on behavior, cooperation, grades, responsibility, etc.) from three of their academic teachers. A fee to cover the cost of rooms and meals for three days is required.
